1)
I intend to leave the nonprofit venture after it
has grown and stabilized enough to be able to continue meeting the goals I have
established. I imagine that would be 5-10 years after it starts to implement
the Careerquest program to young students. I would leave its direction and its
future in the hands of someone that shares a passion for its success and who
has a similar vision for its future. The ultimate goal is to eventually have it
established nationwide so that students all over the country can enjoy the
benefits it offers. Although it is a topic and an idea that I am passionate
about, there are other interests that I would like to pursue.
2) I selected this exit strategy because I think I
would be able to gather a lot of experience as I develop this venture until I
am ready to leave it in capable hands and explore new interests.
3)
I don’t think my exit strategy has influenced
any other decisions I have made. I think even if I wanted to stick with the
venture until I retire I would still make the same choices. The choices I have
made have been based on what is best for the growth and success of the venture.

I really enjoyed your post. I think it is noble to use your entrepreneurship skills to begin a nonprofit organization to help young students, especially when it is a project that you are passionate about. It is a wise decision to use your time at a nonprofit venture to eventually move on to a new venture.

Hey Juan! I think it is so cool that your venture concept is a non-profit! I had to work on a project in another class involving a non-profit for the whole semester, so I have really developed a heart for them. I think you have a good grasp on what your exit strategy will be. I think it is so cool that you are passionate about helping others, and you will grow the non-profit until you feel you can trust someone else to take it over. I think you will be very successful too in whatever you decide to pursue in your new venture. Great job and good luck! ReplyDeleteHey Juan. I think its great that you want to start a non-profit but I have a few questions. First question is how will you be able to secure funding for your next venture. My second question is who would you leave it too, your family? I still like the concept and I wish you the best of luck!
